My father in-law made that console table for me. Isn't it amazing! I just need to decorate it more.

The kitchen was left in pretty bad shape when we moved in. The previous owner had attempted to remove the old wallpaper, but in the process he scratched up the plaster walls really bad. So in this room we finished removing the wallpaper, repaired the walls, painted the walls and cabinets, tore out and replaced the old linoleum flooring, added baseboards, and replaced the cabinet hardware. We purchaesd the small rolling cabinet, which I painted white, and Calvin made the shelf above it to hold the microwave. I would love to replace the blue countertops someday and change out the light above the sink.

In this room, I made the headboard and the sunburst mirror above the bed. Someday I would like to replace the lamps and the plastic drawers we currently use as nightstands.

Nursery

I love my daughter's nursery. It is probably my favorite room in my house. I had a lot of fun designing it too. For a few years now I have always wanted a pink and gray baby girl's room, so I think it was only a couple days after I found out I was having a girl that I painted the room gray. I am in love with the color gray. It is warm and sophisticated, and it is also the perfect backdrop for other colors. I think my style is best described as transitional. I like traditional combined with comtemporary. E's room has a traditional feel with the warm coffee colored furniture and the curved lines of her crib, but then I added splashes of bright colors for a more modern look.
Like all of my house projects, I had to do this room on a budget. I made the pom pom balls out of tissue paper and wire. Total cost was $12. Here is the link to the tutorial I used.

I painted a couple of old picture frames I bought at a thrift store to add a few pops of color on the wall ledges.
The art above the changing table was also a fun and budget friendly project. I used scrapbook paper to cut out letters and shapes to create alphabet art. Total cost for the paper was $5, and I bought the frames on sale for $2.99 ea. Can't beat that!
The chair is from Ikea. I originally wanted a white chair. The slipcovers for this chair are normally $129, but the pink one was on sale for $9, so I took a little bit of a risk and I went with it. I love it! I can't imagine the room without the big pink chair.
I looked everywhere for bedding, but I could never find anything I liked that wasn't way too pricey. I did find this crib sheet that I liked, so I made the rest of the bedding to match. I made the ruffle crib skirt, and I bought a plain white bumper and added the pink ties.
My husband cut out the "E" with some extra wood he had lying around, so total cost for that was $0.

Craft Room

This room cost approximately $300. The flooring was scraps that were given to us by a family member that we glued down and stained. Calvin built the desk out a piece of laminate board purchased from Home Depot. The shelves are inexpensive boards stained and hung with metal brackets. I repainted an old dresser found on Craigslist for added storage. The room is small but perfect for all my crafting needs!!
