They do amazing customs homes! You should definitely check out their website. I had a lot of fun designing their home for the 2014 Idaho Falls Parade of Homes. My husband pretty much gave me free reign (within budget of course) for the home, and I was able to select every finish and color. And like pretty much every parade home we have done, there was a last minute scramble from everyone involved to get the house completed on time. My scramble started six days before it had to be done, when the furniture company that we had previously arranged to use their furniture and accessories to stage our home backed out on us because of conflicts with their delivery trucks. Of course I immediately went into panic mode, but with help from friends and family and other businesses in town I was able to pull the house together. I think it turned out pretty great. <br />
<br />
So with all the scramble and the parade going on, I never got a great picture of the exterior. I will get one eventually but for now this one will have to work.<br />

<br />
It wasn't finished being painted yet, but I really wanted to show you the balcony railing. We had it custom made and it turned out beautiful! The exterior paint color is Sherwin Williams Dark Night.<br />
<br />
Now to the entry.<br />

The interior paint color throughout the house is Sherwin Williams Repose Gray.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I DIYed the octopus art from a free printable I found <a href="http://thegraphicsfairy.com/vintage-clip-art-image-wonderful-octopus-or-cuttle-fish/">here</a>. I used Photoshop to make it 36x36 and changed the color to blue. Then I had it printed at Staples. It was around $17 for a colored engineer print. Then I cut it up and framed it in three 12X36 frames I found at a local craft store. </div>

<br />
The custom designed fretwork staircase is probably my favorite thing in the house (made to match the exterior, obviously). It turned out beyond amazing! I also love the dark gray carpet with a subtle tan stripe. <br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
All the pillows in the room are custom made. I purchased the fabric from Home Fabrics. then recovered some old staging pillows in the new fabric.<br />
<br />
The kitchen is also one of my favorite things about the house. When designing the kitchen I had this vision in my head of using three different finishes on the cabinetry. In my head it looked amazing, but throughout the whole building process I still worried that it wasn't going to be as great in real life.<br />

My heart skipped a beat after I saw it all installed! I love how it turned out.<br />
The base cabinets are Sherwin Williams Porpoise. The white uppers are Sherwin Williams Pure White, and the island and hood are natural walnut with a clear finish. <br />

For the "boy room" I thought that vinyl stars on the wall would be an easy and inexpensive focal point to the room. I got the vinyl from <a href="http://www.expressionsvinyl.com/">Expressions Vinyl</a>.<br />

I don't know about you, but I'm ready to move in!Amber Horchhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06051880769346462624noreply@blogger.com182tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1174186256764700561.post-57818103991787430492014-05-08T10:56:00.000-06:002014-05-08T10:59:09.172-06:00A New Big Girl Room<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
So, again it has been awhile :) But here is my daughter's new room! I think she really loves it. I was worried when we moved into the new house that it was going to mess with her sleeping habits, not that they were that great to begin with. :) But since we moved into the new house she has probably been sleeping better than ever! She was really excited to get a "big" bed. Which was actually mine when I was little. Isn't it perfection!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
I was really hoping these pictures would turn out better. I tried taking pictures three different times with three different types of lighting, but this was the best I got. Anyway, I had my husband build the cornice above her window. I really wanted the window to be the focal point in the room. I loved how it turned out! We are still planning on building a window seat below with toy storage.<br />
<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The hearts on the wall are just vinyl stickers. I got the vinyl from <a href="http://www.expressionsvinyl.com/">here</a>. Super easy! I made all the bedding. Everything except the sheets and the bed skirt. I love being able to sew and create (almost) exactly what is in my head!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The dresser was my great grandmas. I love that there are old furniture pieces in the room, but I think I gave it a modern twist by adding bright colors. </div>

<br />
I finally framed my daughters blessing dress. I bought the shadow box a couple years ago, but never got around to painting it and hanging the dress. I really love how it turned out though. <br />

I have way too much fun designing my kids bedrooms, but they always make me happy when I go in them and I hope they do the same for my kids!</div>

For a while now I have been dreaming of building a house. As an interior designer and someone who drafts house plans I see a lot of houses and floor plans. Over the past year or so I had been putting together a list in my mind of the things I would include in my house if we were ever to build one. I knew I wanted a 3 bedroom 2 bathroom ranch style home with an unfinished basement, and I wanted to stay around 1600 square feet. Some of the more specific things I wanted was I didn't want the master bedroom on the opposite side of the house as the kid's bedrooms. Someday, when my kids are older, that might be nice, but with my babies I don't want to have to walk across the house 3 times a night. Another specific thing I wanted was a nice master bathroom with a separate shower, tub, and a separate toilet. I think living in a house for 5 years with one tiny bathroom made me a little greedy for a nice master bathroom. :) So with all those things in mind I started looking online at floor plans. My favorite floor plan was from Eplans. It was <a href="http://www.eplans.com/house-plans/epl/hwepl09034.html?from=search">this</a> almost 1600 sq.ft beauty.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhmVGZCe9itQ4jSODSSP0E_F6EOimKx9iLpXOn47QBwS-OrBSK5EjEt7Lu2CBPHZUOkezLU4ivMI79T3TeBLq_cW1Y37431-DEVQSYWpv2CrgXkN3tsbshmMOEIxD-yWOJiFeZXbuP_iED-/s1600/FBB092-FR-RE-CO-LG.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhmVGZCe9itQ4jSODSSP0E_F6EOimKx9iLpXOn47QBwS-OrBSK5EjEt7Lu2CBPHZUOkezLU4ivMI79T3TeBLq_cW1Y37431-DEVQSYWpv2CrgXkN3tsbshmMOEIxD-yWOJiFeZXbuP_iED-/s1600/FBB092-FR-RE-CO-LG.jpg" height="432" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjmsJZu0o32ULSulyHUSEyDmAYRPShDpu3KC1LAvdr7Z5cvKwEiMyIdQY1rdZLQvOz6c783MDo1n3N3gwSElH-a4pfZmfUz5OZ2awq6N8kYpTVr5I7AEwLi4nW52Fd3f9Y9kM4mJZyy2hXZ/s1600/FBB092-LVL1-LI-BL-LG.gif" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjmsJZu0o32ULSulyHUSEyDmAYRPShDpu3KC1LAvdr7Z5cvKwEiMyIdQY1rdZLQvOz6c783MDo1n3N3gwSElH-a4pfZmfUz5OZ2awq6N8kYpTVr5I7AEwLi4nW52Fd3f9Y9kM4mJZyy2hXZ/s1600/FBB092-LVL1-LI-BL-LG.gif" height="480" width="640" /></a></div>
So I took that floor plan and started drafting it up. I changed a few things though. I took out the formal dining area and added stairs to the basement and a pocket office off of the family room. I also changed the kitchen and laundry room layout a little.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj8J17mTiLt-MDdJ4s3tDO5UVaHrwFBUzM4Z3Zoh2ZTKDuQsOd7dc9dhUqOu5GQwnKPqe26SptAfJUWBEQ2KnGFXMq5KzSSkPWMIn6-0oSv96n7GDXl3OMsoiK8_G5OVRbC2jdCsp4H_nXo/s1600/Future+Home-Main+OLD.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj8J17mTiLt-MDdJ4s3tDO5UVaHrwFBUzM4Z3Zoh2ZTKDuQsOd7dc9dhUqOu5GQwnKPqe26SptAfJUWBEQ2KnGFXMq5KzSSkPWMIn6-0oSv96n7GDXl3OMsoiK8_G5OVRbC2jdCsp4H_nXo/s1600/Future+Home-Main+OLD.png" height="592" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://s45.photobucket.com/user/hol30003/media/FutureHome-MainOLD_zps2a8dae49.jpg.html" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;" target="_blank"></a> </div>
After that the plan sort of just sat for a while until we sold our house and knew we were ready to build! Then, we started to make more changes. My husband changed jobs so we needed an actual office for him to work from. So we moved some more stuff around and ended up with this.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEik3w3l933DkB_ucuWJ0XK-Y2iLDwtF_pmHUmxDE5eJubPBkpcSxbyU3QaXXhYUH00KL7_TQgfbElKxYhaA9nPbAMU64el3kNR-dMh7vsDYUGkWMJ2PrlDQ-18tFS7MwHUEDxXx3ubRkjng/s1600/Future+Home-MainOLD+2.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEik3w3l933DkB_ucuWJ0XK-Y2iLDwtF_pmHUmxDE5eJubPBkpcSxbyU3QaXXhYUH00KL7_TQgfbElKxYhaA9nPbAMU64el3kNR-dMh7vsDYUGkWMJ2PrlDQ-18tFS7MwHUEDxXx3ubRkjng/s1600/Future+Home-MainOLD+2.png" height="640" width="596" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<br />
Not much of a change, just the office and stairs moved a little. After we had that we thought about it for a while and decided we didn't like how much the garage stuck out in front of the house so much, so we moved it to the side of the house. We also decided for resale value we wanted a third car garage. So I rearranged a few things again and after a month of changes we ended up with the final product!!<br />
<br />

<br />
SO, I guess my point of all this is sometimes finding the perfect floor plan involves a long process. Our builder, Guardian Homes in Idaho Falls, builds custom homes. They can start with any floor plan you find, and their in-house draftsman can make any and all the changes you want. It's really a great way to go!<br />
And here is where our house is being built.<br />

Now that I am going to get back into blogging, I thought a change would be nice. I have A LOT to learn about blog design though, but I really enjoy doing it. Just like my interior design, I feel a sense of accomplishment and satisfaction when I learn something new and actually make it work! Such as my new social media icons. I am super proud of myself for figuring those out! I thought I would give some credit to some of the help I have found in creating my new look. I found <a href="http://www.heylovedesigns.com/2013/05/15/50-blogging-tips/">this</a> blog post from <a href="http://www.heylovedesigns.com/2013/05/15/50-blogging-tips/">Hey Love Designs</a> and it has tons of info.<br />

To make my own social media icons I used Kira's <a href="http://www.hernewleaf.com/2012/01/31/primp-my-blog-how-to-add-social-media-buttons-to-your-sidebar/">post</a> from <a href="http://www.hernewleaf.com/2012/01/31/primp-my-blog-how-to-add-social-media-buttons-to-your-sidebar/">A New Leaf</a>. She also has a whole section called <a href="http://www.hernewleaf.com/primp-my-blog/">Primp My Blog</a> with lots of information on blog design.<br />

I still have a few things on my blog that I need to update and change, but like I said before it will probably happen slowly. So please be patient with me as I educate myself in the blog design world.</div>

So it has been almost a year since I last posted. I guess I took a sort of unintentional break. Some pretty big things have happened in 2013. In March we welcomed this handsome boy into our lives...<br />

Yep, we sold our house! We put it up for sale by owner at the beginning of June, and had two offers before we accepted the third offer at the end of July. A month later we were all moved out. <br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I cried... a lot. That house was like my first child and we put a lot of love into it, but after having our son we were feeling very cramped. When we bought the house we knew we wouldn't be there forever. It was a great starter house for us and we sure enjoyed every minute of the 5 years we spent there. We are moving onto more exciting things though. We are currently in a temporary living situation while we build our next home! <a href="http://www.buildguardian.com/">Guardian Homes</a> is building our next dream home and we couldn't be more excited! We spent a month perfecting the floor plan and deciding where to build, and we finally started the process and the foundation was poured last week! So, I hope to start blogging again about our building experience. There are so many decisions to make when building, and I have already made some pretty big ones, but as an interior designer I am loving being able to design my own house!</div>

My husband and I have been married for 6 years and we have never done Christmas stockings. I have always wanted to get us some but the designer in me could never decide what direction to take. How do you accommodate changing holiday decorations and a growing family? My holiday decorations I have now are silver, white, gray, and gold, but what if I want to do traditional red and green someday? How many stockings do I purchase so as our family grows they all match? These are the questions that go through a designers head. I'm crazy, I know. So, with my daughter being old enough this Christmas to understand a little more about what is going on, I wanted to start some Christmas traditions, one of them being Christmas stockings. I decided to make my own, and I bought enough fabric to make additional stockings as we have more children. I even have them all cut out and in a ziplock bag ready to be sewn. :) Anyway, after all my deliberating here is what I came up with:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://s45.beta.photobucket.com/user/hol30003/media/IMG_0923a.jpg.html" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;" target="_blank"><img alt="Photobucket" border="0" height="421" src="http://i45.photobucket.com/albums/f57/hol30003/IMG_0923a.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I went with all white stockings. That way I can change up my holiday decor and they will go with any color scheme. I used the same linen and fur fabric for each stocking but added unique white touches to each of them. For my husbands I cut a deer head silhouette out of felt and sewed it on.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://s45.beta.photobucket.com/user/hol30003/media/IMG_0927.jpg.html" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;" target="_blank"><img alt="Photobucket" border="0" height="640" src="http://i45.photobucket.com/albums/f57/hol30003/IMG_0927.jpg" width="426" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
On mine, I hot glued a bunch of pearls on it. Yes, it took me a while, but I think it was totally worth it. I love how it turned out.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://s45.beta.photobucket.com/user/hol30003/media/IMG_0941.jpg.html" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;" target="_blank"><img alt="Photobucket" border="0" height="640" src="http://i45.photobucket.com/albums/f57/hol30003/IMG_0941.jpg" width="426" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
For my daughters, I found this really cute tulle flower trim at JoAnns. I sewed three strips of it on in a row. It would be cute to do it from top to bottom of the stocking, but the trim was a little pricey so I kept it simple. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://s45.beta.photobucket.com/user/hol30003/media/IMG_0950.jpg.html" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;" target="_blank"><img alt="Photobucket" border="0" height="640" src="http://i45.photobucket.com/albums/f57/hol30003/IMG_0950.jpg" width="426" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The last one is for our unnamed baby boy that we will meet in March, hence the no letter. I cut out a bunch of random sized circles in white felt and hot glued them on, which also took a lot of time. Speaking of the letters, I debated on whether to do mine and my husbands actual initials or do M and D for mom and dad. Since our kids will be calling us "Mom" and "Dad" I went with M and D, but I have had a few people question it, so now I am doubting myself. I would love to hear your opinions. What names do you put on your stockings?</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://s45.beta.photobucket.com/user/hol30003/media/IMG_0955.jpg.html" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;" target="_blank"><img alt="Photobucket" border="0" height="640" src="http://i45.photobucket.com/albums/f57/hol30003/IMG_0955.jpg" width="426" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://s45.beta.photobucket.com/user/hol30003/media/IMG_0931.jpg.html" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;" target="_blank"></a> </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I am so excited with how they all turned out! I tried to keep the girl ones feminine and the boy ones more masculine. <a href="http://www.womansday.com/home/craft-ideas/craft-project-christmas-stocking-113534">Here</a> is the link to the pattern I used for the stockings. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://s45.beta.photobucket.com/user/hol30003/media/IMG_0925a.jpg.html" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;" target="_blank"><img alt="Photobucket" border="0" height="486" src="http://i45.photobucket.com/albums/f57/hol30003/IMG_0925a.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
And since we don't have a mantle, I just cut a branch off a bush in our back yard, wrapped an artificial evergreen garland around it, and hung it with some ribbon. A very inexpensive and fun way to hang your stockings. This year I splurged and actually bought some decorations. All of Michael's fall stuff was 50% off, plus I had an additional 20% off coupon. So I was able to get some jar fillers, a garland, 3 bigger pumpkins, and a bag of small pumpkins all for $25! Not bad, I thought. The brass candlesticks I sort of inherited. <br />
<br />
<a href="http://s45.photobucket.com/albums/f57/hol30003/?action=view&current=IMG_0254.jpg" target="_blank"><img alt="Photobucket" border="0" height="426" src="http://i45.photobucket.com/albums/f57/hol30003/IMG_0254.jpg" width="640" /></a>
<br />
<br />
I like how it is not too "themey" either. It will work through Thanksgiving, until I am ready to get the Christmas out. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

I realized I hadn't annouced that yet on this blog. I am 20 weeks pregnant and our bundle of joy is expected to arrive sometime around March 14th. I found out this week what I am having so I wanted to share my reveal because I had fun doing it. To keep myself busy the day before my ultrasound I had some fun with my kitchen chalkboard. <br />

We are all pretty excited around here. We can't wait to meet our handsome little man, but there are still a few months to go, so hopefully I can find some projects to keep my busy. I saved the best for last. I didn't have much to do with this room, but it is probably my favorite room in the house. I think it is everyones favorite room. Just look at it!

Yep, that is a pirate ship playhouse! AND my amazing husband built it all from his head! Of course you can go inside the ship to hide from enemies or climb the rope ladder to get to the top and attack from above. :) The wall murals were done by a local artist, Nicholas Owings, and he did a fabulous job making it look like the ship was docked in an old pirate village.<br />

The bed was the homeowners. I added the nightstands, bedding from Target, and the lamps from TJ Maxx. I would have been nice to have some art above the bed, but like I said before, my time was limited towards the end. <br />
<br />
Master Bedroom:<br />
There are a lot of great architecutual features in this room - curved walls and tray ceilings. The mantle and stone on the hearth and around the fireplace were reclaimed from old buildings. <br />

This last weekend seemed like it lasted forever. We started potty training our 22 month old. It was just like having your first baby. Everyone keeps telling you how hard it is going to be and you just think, "Oh yeah, but I can totally handle it." Then it comes and you realize how naive you were. :) We did this 3 day method some friends of ours told us about and....it actually worked really well! The first day I kept thinking, "This is never going to work in 3 days." But on the second day it was like it all of the sudden clicked for her. Seriously amazing! She is not perfect yet, but we are getting there. No accidents so far today! So anyway, I will get back the house now. Next am going to show you the kitchen and breakfast nook. Not a lot of decorating here, but what was really fun about this house was I was involved early on in the building process and was included in a lot of the finish selection. <br />
<br />

(Sorry. The pictures aren't super great. There are so many windows in the house and I took the pics mid day, so lighting is not working with me.)<br />

<br />
The homeowners actually custom ordered a bigger round table like this one that will seat 8, or 10-12 with a leaf. The furniture store was kind enough to let us use the one they had for the parade. The bigger one will fit the space a little better. <br />

The house was finished and The Parade of Homes was a success! There were many times last week that I kept thinking, "The house is never going to be done in time. There is no way. There is still so much to do." And I am not talking about my decorating part. The day before the show started carpet was still being installed. That is how close it was. And I guess I should say that the house didn't get 100% finished. There is still some outside rock to complete and some bathroom tile to be grouted, but by 10 o'clock Thursday morning, it was showable. Other than getting the house completed in time, another exciting thing happened. I mentioned a while ago that the model home I did back in May was also in the Parade. (See pics of that <a href="http://numberedstreetdesigns.blogspot.com/2012/05/model-home-part-1.html">here</a> and <a href="http://numberedstreetdesigns.blogspot.com/2012/05/model-home-part-2.html">here</a>.) That home won the Builder's Choice Award (built by Phelps Homes) AND the Decorator's Choice Award!!! Can you believe it?!! I was so honored and excited. It may seem small to some people, but this was definitely a huge highlight in my life so far. I am so flattered. It also just goes to show that you don't have to spend a lot of money to make a home look good. I had such a tight budget on that house. Most of the furniture and accessories came from places like Target and Walmart. <br />
Anyway, let's get back to the other house and start showing some pictures. The house is a custom home built by <a href="http://www.buildguardian.com/">Guardian Homes</a>. It is a five bedroom, five and a half bathroom home with over 8,000 square feet. Let's start when you walk in the front door into the great room: <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh5XR45x-WdWGNAEX262BvZTZ_UgjhpiBFHhwdl5dLL53bc5YV-RM094iaHkFduY1tNdYwnuUGi1se8gJllnMyMZl43vZ_tbjreTUUKrnecNpN8EVh9j-ZucHJu3DqdXQFihgzcoGW9575K/s1600/IMG_9741.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh5XR45x-WdWGNAEX262BvZTZ_UgjhpiBFHhwdl5dLL53bc5YV-RM094iaHkFduY1tNdYwnuUGi1se8gJllnMyMZl43vZ_tbjreTUUKrnecNpN8EVh9j-ZucHJu3DqdXQFihgzcoGW9575K/s640/IMG_9741.JPG" width="426" /></a></div>
<br />
As you walk in the entry you are greeted with this beautiful mosaic. The homeowners purchased it and I think it was a good choice and a great piece of art for the home. It showed their design style perfectly. Rustic, elegant, and warm. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEig5oCXvyaAiSn4QgfIiIqtEG-d39fMvCqDVbftAX3BS710iaRE7XErEIT3rDs54sUX6CwgBkOoWMljcZp7-ygPlvftse-XSe5mNq0QdtcoHHdi8-ukVAbW-WFYoMEika3NkckDiO1iR6wY/s1600/IMG_9736a.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="504" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEig5oCXvyaAiSn4QgfIiIqtEG-d39fMvCqDVbftAX3BS710iaRE7XErEIT3rDs54sUX6CwgBkOoWMljcZp7-ygPlvftse-XSe5mNq0QdtcoHHdi8-ukVAbW-WFYoMEika3NkckDiO1iR6wY/s640/IMG_9736a.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
The art above the fireplace is Thomas Kincade painting that the homeowners wanted incorporated into the home.<br />
<br />

<br />
The furniture was purchased at local furniture stores. Accessories are from a million different places. :)<br />

I wish I could have decorated the firepalce a little more and put a few things on the coffee table, but there just wasn't time. Oh well. <br />

The dining area is just to your left when you walk in the front door. <br />

I didn't plan on not posting, but summers get busy. Many afternoons were spent at the park and in our backyard playing in my daughter's kiddie pool. We had one long vacation visiting family and some smaller weekend ones. Before I knew it summer was over already. I feel like we didn't even do most of the things we usually do in the summer. Part of the reason for that could be because the last few weeks have been crazy, and it is only going to get more crazy. The Eastern Idaho Parade of Homes is next week which means the house I have been working on needs to be done by next Wednesday. And guess what?...The house isn't even done yet!!! Trim is still being stained, walls are still being painted. There are countertops to be installed, carpet to be laid, lighting to be hung, and the list goes on. I think you could say I'm a little stressed out. I saw this quote on Pinterest a while ago and it pretty much sums up how I feel right now:<br />

I will be surprised if I am still alive at the end of next week. So, I probaby won't be back for a week or so, but hopefully I will have some great pictures to show you. My talented husband has also been working on a project for the parade home, and it is awesome! I can't wait to show you. On another note I just realized I now have 100 followers! Not that I am super concerned about how many followers I have, I know it doesn't really define if my blog is good or bad, but it is still exciting that I now have exactly 100. Thanks to all of you followers and readers out there. I need to do something exciting, but I don't have time to think about it right now. Anyway, wish me luck and hopefully I will be back to blogging soon! </div>

I know I did. It was also my husbands birthday so we were able to celebrate two holidays! And, since Father's Day is over, I can share this rendering I did of my in-law's beautiful home. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
My mother-in-law gave it to my father-in-law for Father's Day. I am happy with how it turned out, and my father-in-law said he really liked it, so that's all that matters.Amber Horchhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06051880769346462624noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1174186256764700561.post-64445268212586138092012-05-31T09:53:00.001-06:002012-05-31T09:53:02.950-06:00Model Home: Part 2Thanks for all of your nice comments on Part 1! Now it is time for the basement and the second floor. I will start with the basement since I didn't do much there and it is not as exciting. :)<br />
Craft Room<br />
Since there are six bedrooms we decided to make one of them look like a craft room. I just kept it pretty simple.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEixEAni4QEY6BT-yJJoDI3EcMbMlYRm6VKMnc8_nAn5BkOy3f5n6joGQZS9iOE22q5vnPQJUP8A4w_YOdxVCThIXS-7PvATalVcJcuaNDaiyciSyqP9qam0zGzjniQALuaxgg74kSkyi9bL/s1600/IMG_8996a.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEixEAni4QEY6BT-yJJoDI3EcMbMlYRm6VKMnc8_nAn5BkOy3f5n6joGQZS9iOE22q5vnPQJUP8A4w_YOdxVCThIXS-7PvATalVcJcuaNDaiyciSyqP9qam0zGzjniQALuaxgg74kSkyi9bL/s640/IMG_8996a.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
The desk and chair are from Pier 1. The shelf is from Target and the bulletin board/maker board is from Walmart. <br />
<br />
The other bedroom in the basement I tried to make it look like a teenage room. The paint colors in the home are pretty masculine, as you will see later, so I wanted to make this room look more girly. I found the bedding at Big Lots and thought it would work okay with the wall color. Then, I just went from there.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiNer4fJU93-_LAp3VVnfzklL3Vt_oPohlMUgXTolG5O4HfzpgGIp58SMZKdZoYX7vx3qaJBhxt93eEjwEsZsh-_O3BQd176y3cCcm8a_rp5-lwH-t5SIGsdLhYMxeiEj-D8p6Ms0qjt0Qt/s1600/IMG_9001.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiNer4fJU93-_LAp3VVnfzklL3Vt_oPohlMUgXTolG5O4HfzpgGIp58SMZKdZoYX7vx3qaJBhxt93eEjwEsZsh-_O3BQd176y3cCcm8a_rp5-lwH-t5SIGsdLhYMxeiEj-D8p6Ms0qjt0Qt/s640/IMG_9001.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
The dresser and nightstand are from Shopko. The lamp is from Target and the art I found at Michael's. <br />
In the basement family room all I did was add a game table in this pretty window area. I found this at Shopko.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgylyyaCINRqWnP5cgZXsSIc7cUqOtqeuigeihgCMt8xh7b5jiTSv8FhiczhYEdhMJp-Tk7fSH2qz8hSqJ7NPkrgx-dDpgmUyUMAKMWStXS9eAiD-HIFKwtcW3K6iSOK8Ij1NHbWbzj-wKZ/s1600/IMG_9003a.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgylyyaCINRqWnP5cgZXsSIc7cUqOtqeuigeihgCMt8xh7b5jiTSv8FhiczhYEdhMJp-Tk7fSH2qz8hSqJ7NPkrgx-dDpgmUyUMAKMWStXS9eAiD-HIFKwtcW3K6iSOK8Ij1NHbWbzj-wKZ/s640/IMG_9003a.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
I think the plan is to later bring in a sofa the owner already has into the family room to complete it a little more. <br />
<br />
Okay, now onto the second floor of the home.<br />
<br />
Master Bedroom.<br />
The master has green accent paint, as you can see in the right corner, so I tried to work with it as best as possible. The bed and nightstands were something the owner already had, so I had to work with that too. I found the bedding at Tuesday Morning and I felt like it tied everything together really well and also gave the room a little feminine touch. I found the fern pictures at <a href="http://vintageprintable.com/">vintageprintable.com</a> and had them printed at a local print shop for cheap. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgmUmoAPun3vFJGDDRzkKN9C4_sTiuoDgv_FtK7PJFWB5b3dqaG2F_9uu3BVXU_pOrJn315nMhPYsbj-N3U3lb5mV9HCagvlPqXg8jMO8J6nHhtBdrDOE6mhD2htqZuyo-gDMImduDNn4ba/s1600/IMG_8966.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgmUmoAPun3vFJGDDRzkKN9C4_sTiuoDgv_FtK7PJFWB5b3dqaG2F_9uu3BVXU_pOrJn315nMhPYsbj-N3U3lb5mV9HCagvlPqXg8jMO8J6nHhtBdrDOE6mhD2htqZuyo-gDMImduDNn4ba/s640/IMG_8966.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
The dresser I found at Furniture Row. Then I added an inexpensive mirror from Ross and some simple lamps from Walmart.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgP0v-38DhpiOc6Bw5E1_F-HACF5XyNq2X3RQkYdUEptdfBW72OwsSjQZEyMbxKGR_uoe0nZ-psdhEzsoK0_YnQhl2866UroXgD44fG7hep31QuRonvEWTljQhEX7IYBDKIRtjoycooB7Ns/s1600/IMG_8969.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgP0v-38DhpiOc6Bw5E1_F-HACF5XyNq2X3RQkYdUEptdfBW72OwsSjQZEyMbxKGR_uoe0nZ-psdhEzsoK0_YnQhl2866UroXgD44fG7hep31QuRonvEWTljQhEX7IYBDKIRtjoycooB7Ns/s640/IMG_8969.JPG" width="426" /></a></div>
<br />
Master Bathroom<br />
I didn't need to do much here.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjNQsEG0F39ERNzWaIheVeZc71gOIuovCCssA-ifyZM0K8Kmuz7q7c7IdJC9FPXXqJaw3E7TYfyTFfrfdK09lyWZ-EDA2gptm3C_-hcabvrqA81SA2OFuIWthI2Hwg1j4NznVOJMdgsFWA7/s1600/IMG_8980.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjNQsEG0F39ERNzWaIheVeZc71gOIuovCCssA-ifyZM0K8Kmuz7q7c7IdJC9FPXXqJaw3E7TYfyTFfrfdK09lyWZ-EDA2gptm3C_-hcabvrqA81SA2OFuIWthI2Hwg1j4NznVOJMdgsFWA7/s640/IMG_8980.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
But, there is this cute little window seat in the walk-in closet, so I added a few coordinating pillows.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhMPOpYzR7ekoPs-Ba85OFwL3e88Mhpq4P2pls7EMcggyRsNCMmO0icBld1Syfdy7iHmEY1CHT6muI6BQ_CZWEQ2RagVqJKirDnGULOLTZnNTu4TrUqB-8bXwJN7S3BwOIRmfO7A2ldW_bs/s1600/IMG_8981.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhMPOpYzR7ekoPs-Ba85OFwL3e88Mhpq4P2pls7EMcggyRsNCMmO0icBld1Syfdy7iHmEY1CHT6muI6BQ_CZWEQ2RagVqJKirDnGULOLTZnNTu4TrUqB-8bXwJN7S3BwOIRmfO7A2ldW_bs/s640/IMG_8981.JPG" width="426" /></a></div>
<br />
Guest Room<br />
The bedding is from Kmart. The nightstands and wall art are from Fred Meyer. The lamps are from Walmart.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgzDmAjGJyFEkiCJ3qMkHgEy0U4gGX4KSpWQC_w-y8IY3V2Lgf0NMc0QRVZVPEIvmZjXiLSGwWJ62iI7VMXTqPYNniFvyPB8LsKIR9hLm4yfSlYkhyjfv_0FxMiJ2sE6Zj3R9LP6XkKOkIP/s1600/IMG_8959.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgzDmAjGJyFEkiCJ3qMkHgEy0U4gGX4KSpWQC_w-y8IY3V2Lgf0NMc0QRVZVPEIvmZjXiLSGwWJ62iI7VMXTqPYNniFvyPB8LsKIR9hLm4yfSlYkhyjfv_0FxMiJ2sE6Zj3R9LP6XkKOkIP/s640/IMG_8959.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />The Nursery<br />
Again, we have the same green that is in the master, so I had to find crib bedding that would work with it. Luckily I found this cute Noah's Ark set at Shopko. The colors were perfect. You can't see it, but the art above the crib is a picture of a giraffe that I found on vintageprintable.com and the big one is one that I made that says, "you are getting very sleepy." It was inexpensive and colorful. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh21OLXnU-DAimh66BGNB3uK9GjtaBHi5TaU-tbaT82w7RcgRf4Ti1dN6dL6xMGQUwWPVMQnXYZ9Lw-6dQXOCEVQ_Q-RdfDgGEiBJSCcav6wHJ0vICjXGyhbBoy7XSR462zUDSatnAZCIsP/s1600/IMG_8943.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh21OLXnU-DAimh66BGNB3uK9GjtaBHi5TaU-tbaT82w7RcgRf4Ti1dN6dL6xMGQUwWPVMQnXYZ9Lw-6dQXOCEVQ_Q-RdfDgGEiBJSCcav6wHJ0vICjXGyhbBoy7XSR462zUDSatnAZCIsP/s640/IMG_8943.JPG" width="426" /></a></div>
<br />
For the other side of the room I used the old inexpensive embroidery hoop trick. The crib and changing table I found at Walmart for $200 for the set!!<br />
<br /><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjCLTBkEcFIkLAlK8m1oW2-I2maUknhiGd_EtlKpbVCLGWZaB1I-e8YSK2_eSJ0WWNQ_bF5SK94DjpsF9rEZ9i7NGhg0YW6_h3sxvZVX4gQbMOqFNPum9bqu6BNdZctrF-n7yNP-FBIq_iz/s1600/IMG_8944.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjCLTBkEcFIkLAlK8m1oW2-I2maUknhiGd_EtlKpbVCLGWZaB1I-e8YSK2_eSJ0WWNQ_bF5SK94DjpsF9rEZ9i7NGhg0YW6_h3sxvZVX4gQbMOqFNPum9bqu6BNdZctrF-n7yNP-FBIq_iz/s640/IMG_8944.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br />Game Room</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
There is a fabulous large room over the garage. It would be the perfect game/toy/movie/hangout room. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
The sofa was one that the owner already had. I found the green poufs at Tuesday morning. The kids table is from Toys R Us. The plan is to put a T.V., and a fooseball table and air hockey table in this room and let the kids hang out here while the parents are touring the home. <br />
<br />
Boy's Room<br />
I had fun with this room. I gave it kind of a travel/airplane theme. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg4To8Eu8iPAqGM7JfpGiELeYBS8mrx_hx_mcohOzzw4y4jzKxNEfMAzev9NAZrxOUXYotRQfBDhlxy-LQxTJX5y-HyKwjmq9ms-RbB-6Q5a8i39Fo3ocs25Qb6TNYxdh47lKcLJbcyhkoy/s1600/IMG_8949.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg4To8Eu8iPAqGM7JfpGiELeYBS8mrx_hx_mcohOzzw4y4jzKxNEfMAzev9NAZrxOUXYotRQfBDhlxy-LQxTJX5y-HyKwjmq9ms-RbB-6Q5a8i39Fo3ocs25Qb6TNYxdh47lKcLJbcyhkoy/s640/IMG_8949.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />The furniture is from Kmart. The bedding is from Ross. For art, I got a map from Office Max for $7 and framed it. For the other art, again on <a href="http://vintageprintable.com/">vintageprintable.com</a> I found these cool Yellowstone and Zion National Park posters. The letters are from Michael's and the Lamp is from Target.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEho_bR6-4FfzwR-0V4sG0oTMtaI9MHLHmvRfGOG4p7P-2D0cenoCruFn25mnJsg90vP7PzNIb-hDPTw8IkFJ7hvKsD8584wcI0J_aTS3FUnqvaZyzEgHMkYDqdmf-As8_4BZTxZWfJ_xp6Z/s1600/IMG_8952.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEho_bR6-4FfzwR-0V4sG0oTMtaI9MHLHmvRfGOG4p7P-2D0cenoCruFn25mnJsg90vP7PzNIb-hDPTw8IkFJ7hvKsD8584wcI0J_aTS3FUnqvaZyzEgHMkYDqdmf-As8_4BZTxZWfJ_xp6Z/s640/IMG_8952.JPG" width="426" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br />Well, that is pretty much it. I left out some bathrooms because they are pretty basic. For the budget and time frame I had to work with I am pleased with how it turned out. Hopefully it will make people want to move right in. This home is going to be in the Parade of Homes in September, and I am currently working on another gorgeous home for <a href="http://www.buildguardian.com/">Guardian Homes</a> that will be in the Parade of Homes too. I will have two homes in the Parade this year, so that is pretty exciting!</div>

Two and a half weeks ago, I was asked to design a model home that they needed done by Memorial Day weekend for a fun run they were hosting there. The home is located in the beautiful <a href="http://www.myhawkslanding.com/site/">Hawks Landing</a> subdivision here in Southeast Idaho.
The builder is Phelps Homes and they do amazing work. It is a 6 bedroom 3 1/2 bathroom home. I am going to post the main level first and then I will get the the upstairs and the basement another day. I forgot to take a picture of the exterior, so I will have to post that another day, but here is the beautiful entry as you walk in the front door. <br />

I was not involved in the finish or paint selection process. I don't know the names of the paint colors, and actually neither does the builder. He said they were sort of a mix they made out of some left over paint they had. <br />
They wanted a bench for people to use to take their shoes off before walking through the home. I found that at TJ Maxx and the rug is from Target. The clock is from Walmart. We were working on a pretty tight budget, so I had to do a lot of shopping around to find the best items for the best price. I am really pleased with how it turned out though. <br />

This will actually be their sales person's office. The desk is from Office Max. I did not purchase the chairs. They were already owned by the developer, so I don't know where they came from. The art is from Tuesday Morning.<br />

I love this table and chair set. Sorry, it is kind of hard to see. When I took these pictures it was right in the middle of the day, so the lighting was horrible. But it is from Sam's Club and here is the <a href="http://www.samsclub.com/sams/shop/product.jsp?productId=prod5320042&navAction=push">link</a>. We purchased our table and chair set from Sam's too. The loveseat is from Furniture Row. The clock is from Lowes ( great price too, by the way: $49.99). The lamp is from Target. The big empty spot in the built-in is where a T.V. will go, in case you were wondering. <br />

I have started a few projects over the last couple weeks but haven't finished any of them until now! I made my pillow for my bed this weekend. I am very proud of myself too. <div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
But the $17/yard price tag plus shipping just wasn't doing it for me. Well, I was wandering around JoAnns this weekend and found this:</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
It's not exactly like the original but it's good enough for me, and it was 50% off so I was able to get a </div>

yard for $12. So hopefully I will be making a pillow in the next few days on top of a few other little projects I have started, which include making a new wreath for my front door and a geneology chart. </div>Amber Horchhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06051880769346462624noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1174186256764700561.post-40746868710382105462012-04-23T08:41:00.000-06:002012-05-07T09:09:02.059-06:00Kitchen ChalkboardI forgot that I hadn't posted my chalkboard yet. I finally did finish making the chalkboard for my kitchen. For the board part, Calvin cut to size a piece of really thin particle board stuff...I'm not really sure what it is called, but you can get a big piece of it at Home Depot for $10. Then I primed and painted it and attached the board to the frame with a staple gun. As you can see from the smudges on the board, I have been using it. It's been great to jot down quick reminders and grocery items we need.Amber Horchhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06051880769346462624noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1174186256764700561.post-57429400185807655552012-04-18T14:26:00.000-06:002012-04-18T14:26:32.009-06:00Facebook PageSince I'm not that great at regularly posting, I made a Facebook page so you can keep up on my posts.<br />

I like what I have done with it using what I have, but we haven't really put much money into it. The bed is a $30 metal frame, and I made the tufted headboard for about $60. Our dresser is the same one I have had since I was like 10 years old. Our nightstands are plastic drawers from Wal-Mart, and our Ikea lamps have seen better days. Bedroom furniture is just too expensive and not in our budget right now, BUT that doesn't stop me from dreaming. I put together my dream bedroom on a design board. Here is what I came up with:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi2PmAWa07Vw-8jSeYDx-_jKBhZOcrKXyROII59wRf4WdIET6h4jbLXejO97Su7ExetDHNqG1236vGOSZ60odpWzpQI0kb6ihbWkrJ7cu7X7QFbefE5L-hBsVXnTnJvHUhOdMsQQOi7KVuJ/s1600/dream+bedroom+board.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi2PmAWa07Vw-8jSeYDx-_jKBhZOcrKXyROII59wRf4WdIET6h4jbLXejO97Su7ExetDHNqG1236vGOSZ60odpWzpQI0kb6ihbWkrJ7cu7X7QFbefE5L-hBsVXnTnJvHUhOdMsQQOi7KVuJ/s640/dream+bedroom+board.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
The bed is the <a href="http://www.potterybarn.com/products/hudson-bed/">Hudson Bed</a> from Pottery Barn, and it is, of course, paired with my <a href="http://www.westelm.com/products/stripe-duvet-cover-sham-b704/?pkey=cduvet-covers">West Elm Bedding</a>. The <a href="http://www.zgallerie.com/p-11735-linx-pillow-24-pewter.aspx">Linx Pillow</a> is from Z Gallerie and I have been coveting <a href="http://www.fabric.com/just-arrived-just-arrived-home-decorating-fabric-duralee-home-decor-fabrics-duralee-bokara-yellow.aspx">that fabric</a> for a while now. I want to make a bolster pillow out of it for my bed. The chair is <a href="http://www.target.com/p/Swoop-Upholstered-Accent-Chair-Georgeous-Pearl/-/A-13626089#?lnk=sc_qi_detaillink">Swoop Upholstered Accent Chair-Gorgeous Pearl</a> from Target. <a href="http://www.target.com/p/Target-Home-Faux-Silk-Window-Panel/-/A-14006489">Curtains</a> are also from Target. I have wanted a glass lamp base for years now! Most of them are pretty pricey, for me that is, but Target has a reasonably priced <a href="http://www.target.com/p/Tear-Drop-Lamp-Base-Medium/-/A-13648289">Tear Drop</a> one. I paired it with a fabulous <a href="http://www.target.com/p/Mix-and-Match-Lamp-Shade-Chevron-Lamp-Shade-Gold-Large/-/A-13794174#?lnk=sc_qi_detaillink">Gold Chevron Lamp Shade,</a> also from Target. (Can you tell I really like Target?) The side table is the <a href="http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/10210540/">Isala Side Table</a> from Ikea. (I also really love the matching <a href="http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/20204176/">Isala Coffee Table</a>.) Then to top off the room I would add a few decorative accents. The <a href="http://www.zgallerie.com/p-6288-ceramic-books-set-of-8.aspx">Ceramic Books</a> and <a href="http://www.zgallerie.com/p-10233-faux-coral-aquamarine.aspx">Faux Coral</a> are from Z Gallerie. So there you have it! That is my dream bedroom. Maybe someday...Amber Horchhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06051880769346462624noreply@blogger.com7tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1174186256764700561.post-79480037476271246902012-03-30T11:51:00.002-06:002012-03-30T11:54:30.637-06:00Rustic Modern LightingIn the words of Brick Tamland, "I love lamp." :) But seriously, I really do love lighting. Not only is it one of the most important design elements, (you can't show off a beautifully designed room if your lighting stinks) but I also think it is a fun way to add character to a space. What reminded me of how much I love lighting was I was on <a href="http://homedecorators.com/">homedecorators.com</a> yesterday, and they have some great modern/rustic lighting options. <br />
<br />
