Cute right?! Well, these got me thinking about my kitchen. My light blue countertops have always been a design issue. When I chose my wall color for the kitchen I tried to think of a color that would not clash with the blue but still flow with the living and dining room colors. I came up with dark brown and I felt good with my decision, but the countertops still just don't go away like I want them to. So, what if I added orange accents to my kitchen?!! Like a cute orange patterned shade or valance in the window and some orange dish towels. Here is what I came up with on photoshop.
I don't have a lot of bright colors in the rest of my house, but the kitchen could be a fun place to start!

Aqua is my fave with pretty much anything... orange is nice and warm for Idaho's coming cold :)
ReplyDeletei love the orange and blue.. what about a rug with both colors too?
ReplyDeleteI love your idea to accent with orange in the kitchen! I think you're right on, it will definitely help make the blue counters look more intentional. Great idea!
ReplyDeleteI love these colors together! Especially the first picture.
ReplyDeleteI found your blog through Andrea at Strawberry Chic - I love your craft room!! It looks like an amazing space and I love the art and colors you've used. I'm a new follower!
That would be super cute...you could add an orange kitchen-aide to your counter-top too! (it's a great excuse to buy one!)
ReplyDeleteI would embrace the blue countertops. It is very retro-chic. I love the direction you are heading, orange is perfect for the space. I would accent the kitchen with turquoise and orange, making the countertops blend in seamlessly. A stencilled wall could be fabulous in this space too, and I love the idea of a funky rug.
